Found this neat article while searching for another report I heard on All Things Considered yesterday. I love music and love listening to different types. Some of my personal favorite websites are Live365 and Shoutcast.
To be able to store music online would be neat. It does raise some good points for when it comes to paying royalties as well as your privacy rights to your user activity. Amazon, Google, and Apple seem to be the leaders trying to figure out how to make a profit from this.

Chirbit
Being a former DJ, I was looking forward to working with audio. I went to a bunch of different sites, such as steekr. It looked promising, it had access to a creative commons library. However, further investigation revealed that it was a off-site back-up server. It has share functions, but I felt that it wasn't going to fit my needs.
I chose to work with Chirbit. You could record directly on their website. This made it quicker than working with audio programs, particularly since all I did was record famous speeches. There were many links to cross-post such as FB, and Twitter. You could also post comments on it, via text or audio. You also had the option to upload audio. Quite neat. I could use this to do some work on primary sources with my classes.
